Fumigation obligation for cargoes to Australia and New Zealand/ Brown marmorated stink bug (BMSB) season 2022/23

The Australian Government Department of Agriculture and Water Resources and the Ministry for Primary Industries have announced a temporary fumigation obligation for endangered goods, as the brown marmorated stink bug is considered an agricultural pest and has been detected in Germany and elsewhere. The BMSB season 2022/23 applies to goods shipped from September 1st 2022 and arriving on Australian/New Zealand territory up to and including April 30th 2023. Please note that fumigation for LCL shipments starts mid of August. All packages that come from high risk countries and require fumigation may no longer be sealed with film, wrapped or covered. Please note that a wrapping net, for example, should be used instead. In addition, no food, pharmaceutical products or seeds may be loaded in the groupage containers.
